What is our Age policy?
Volunteers willing to participate alone should be more than 18 years of age. Those with 14 year and below should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Families or groups are welcomed to apply provided that the children are not less than 2 years of age. We have no age limit for senior volunteers provided they are in good health.
What is the Period of Stay?
We recommend a minimum of three (1) weeks and a maximum of six (6) months depending on the program placement. Volunteers planning to stay for more than 6 months are advised to make prior arrangement with us.
Our volunteers must be able to communicate verbally in English or Swahili. Those who do not must be accompanied with an interpreter.
What is our Health Insurance Policy?
Volunteers are encouraged to have travel insurance. They should arrange for the travel insurance at least 2 weeks prior to traveling. They should not have major health problems. Volunteers with chronic ailments such as diabetes and hypertension but who are stable should notify us early enough before traveling. Volunteers with psychiatric illness are not accepted.
How much is Volunteer program cost?
Volunteer program cost depends on volunteers stay for our partner organizations.. This covers food, accommodation and transport from airport to volunteering destination. Other expenses including airfare, tourist activities, visa and passport fees and phones calls will be at the expense of the volunteer. We require volunteers to make full deposit 2 weeks before traveling. Refunds are done only for volunteers who request cancellation as early as 45 days before presumptive travel day.
Do you accept volunteers with criminal history?
No. We do not accept volunteers with criminal record or those involved in drug trafficking.
